Are the 7 Feasts of the LORD for Israel or for all believers in Jesus? Insights and objections.
Are you interested in learning about the 7 Feasts of the LORD, biblical holy days like Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles which draw us closer to Yeshua (Jesus) and deepen our understanding of God’s Word?
For many Christians who begin learning about the 7 Feasts of the LORD, the journey is both exciting and challenging. On one hand, the beauty and depth of these biblical celebrations stir a fresh love for God’s Word and for Yeshua, Jesus. On the other hand, discouragement often comes quickly, especially when certain pastors, teachers, or fellow believers dismiss the Feasts as being “Old Testament,” “just for Israel,” or “part of the Law that no longer applies.” Because of this, some sadly back away from exploring them further, unsure if it’s even right for a follower of Jesus to take part in because some of us may be made to feel that we’re betraying Jesus or the cross.
But here’s the truth: “the Feasts of the LORD” aren’t just “Jewish celebrations.” The Bible tells us that they belong to God and that they are set apart as holy. (Leviticus 23:2). They are not empty rituals, but actually days for celebration, for remembrance, and they contain living prophecies that reveal God’s plan of salvation through Yeshua, Jesus our Savior.
And while we no longer keep the Feasts with temple sacrifices or Levitical priests, we honor them in the light of the New Covenant Jesus established, as times of worship, remembrance, and joyful expectation.
As we walk through this Bible study today, we will see that God’s Feasts or appointed times were never abolished, never replaced, and still speak powerfully to every follower of our Savior and Messiah today.
